The Shores -- Combining a keen eye for nature with a distinctive look to each home, The Shores of Jupiter is built around several lakes and provides residents with unique opportunities for fishing, non-motorized boating or enjoying the environment. There are 599 homes within The Shores, but each has its own individual look and feel. No cookie cutters here! With the first home built in the mid-1980's many residents have updated, remodeled or added on to their homes. There are both single story and two story homes in the community, but there are no condos or townhomes. And you won't find a community center, a community swimming pool, tennis courts or a gated entrance at The Shores. Residents like the low HOA fees associated with no ammenities in the community. There are young families, professionals, empty nesters and retirees all calling The Shores home. And the commiunity is located in the A rated Jupiter school district. In mid-January there were 15 homes on the market in The Shores with six under contract, many of which were priced in the $200,000's. The remaining nine homes range in price from $349,900 for a three bedroom, two bath 1900 square foot home to $439,000 for a four bedroom, two bath 2225 square foot home with a pool. Recent Market Activity -- In 2009 there were 23 homes sold in The Shores ranging from $265,000 for a three bedroom, two bath 1958 square foot home to $390,000 for a 5 bedroom, three bath, 2543 square foot home with a pool. In 2009 the 23 homes sold averaged $147 per square foot, about 14 percent lower than in 2008. In 2008 13 homes sold averaging $171 per square foot. The Shores of Jupiter is located on Central Boulevard just north of Indiantown Road and minutes from The Florida Turnpike and I-95.
